The Associations tool is arguably the most powerful tool in the CrimeTracer application and most useful for solving complex crime. It enables you to extend your search capabilities to reveal associations among entities of your choosing. You can request to find persons, vehicles, organizations, firearms, locations, properties, phone numbers, documents, offenses, officers, or narratives that are associated with your point of interest, or multiple points of interest.
Note: For more complex associations, it may be helpful to use the Visualizer tool for a visual representation of your association results.
Note: By default, the page will only show 25 results at a time. This can be changed at the bottom of the page.
When only a description is available an association search can be performed on the search parameters using Advanced Search.
Note: By default, the page will only show 25 results at a time. This can be changed at the bottom of the page.
Check "Refined" to run association searches using custom entities.
Tip: When running a Refined Search in Find Associations, add the entity with what you expect to have the smaller number of results into the "...associated with:" box. This query will return first and the result set will be searched for any entities that match the search terms you entered into the top "Show me" box. In the example shown, the first search will be run on an Orange Geo Metro in Arizona. That set will then be searched for all White Males associated with that small set of vehicles.
